Upanat sandals (special temple footwear) are provided for the Temple Structure climb and must be worn inside — bring toe socks if you're prone to blisters. Light, breathable clothing; warm layer for sunrise; sunhat and sunscreen for daytime visits.
- What's prohibited inside
- No food or drink inside the Temple Structure — water is not permitted during the climb. No drones. No pets. No sharp objects. No touching reliefs or climbing walls. Maximum exploration: 9th terrace.
- Photography
- Personal photography is welcome everywhere at Borobudur, both on the temple grounds and on the upper terraces. Drones are not permitted. Tripods and large telephoto lenses require prior authorisation.
- Accessibility

- Children
- Under 3 enter free. Ages 3–10 receive a 50% discount on Temple Structure tickets — email us to arrange child pricing. Sunrise and Sunset experiences are full price for all ages.
